Yesterday I spent my third day out of the last 5 in a hospital for tests on my left leg. A little background, 2 years ago I had a blood clot in my left leg. Last Thursday my left leg became very large, to the point that I could barely move my foot. Thursday Night I went to the Emergency Room at the Gwinnett Medical Hospital in Lawrenceville. Friday and yesterday (Monday) I went to DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Decatur, which is next door to my Hematology doctor (Dr Jay, who is the BEST doc you can find) at Georgia Cancer Specialist.
While sitting for nearly 3 hours in the waiting room, I was told by the hospital staff that I could not use my cell pone, not even to surf the net because it interferes with hospital equipment. Yet, every doctor, nurse and other hospital staff carries a cell phone and is often on it. So, while this lady wasn’t looking I hit the net and found this article titled Hospital Equipment Unaffected By Cell Phone Use, Study Finds. So, while I saw her on her cell phone I walked up to her and said that the Mayo clinic study in 2006 found that normal use of cell phones results in no noticeable interference with patient care equipment and since she was using her phone I was going to use mine. She gave me the evil eye and left me a lone. It’s my belief that they do not want patents to have access to their malpractice attorney. What do you think?
