Nearly 10,000 homes in Terrebonne were flooded during Hurricane Rita, which struck just a few weeks after Katrina devastated much of southeast Louisiana.
The seven-foot high levee that protects the town of Chauvin was shredded by Rita. Over the levee's 15-mile length, there were 32 separate breaches caused by a hurricane that was nearly 200 miles away. [Read more - 4WWL]
