It could be the next MySpace only this one is for adults.
Multiply gives you an easy way to share all kinds of digital media, including photos, blogs, videos, music and more, all in one convenient place: your own personal web site. With Multiply, you can share and discuss your stuff with everyone in your "social network," and also be alerted whenever they have something new.
With one convenient place to share and discuss your photos, videos, blogs, music, reviews, events and more, and an automatic way to see what's new with people you know, Multiply makes it fun to keep in touch. Your Multiply site comes with free unlimited storage space, so you can make it the permanent home for all of your stuff.
Your personal web site on Multiply - http://YOURNAME.multiply.com - is the one place where you can share many different types of content. No longer do you, or your friends and family, need to learn how to use separate sites (and keep track of separate IDs, passwords, and links). Multiply lets you do all of the following:
- post digital photos, videos and music
- publish your own blog
- schedule events and parties on your social calendar
- share movie or restaurant reviews
more after the jump.
Flash video. Now when you share video on Multiply, we'll automatically convert it to Flash format, for easy viewing in your browser. You'll be able to download the original, and yes, embed these into other websites... just click "share." (We took a closer look at Flash video the other day; be sure to have a look!)
More imports. You can now import video content from YouTube, Google Video, and Photobucket. We've added ImageShack support to our growing list of image import tools. And if you blog on TypePad, you can now easily import your blog entries to Multiply.
Cross-posting. Blog imports are one thing... and are quite useful for catching up. But more excitingly, you can now blog concurrently with your LiveJournal, Blogger, or yes, TypePad account. Compose once and it's posted twice. (Enable each of these on the import pages for each respective service.)
Backdating. Many users have asked for the ability to have blog entries reflect a time and date other than the time they're posted. This new option will appear on your blog compose page once you've enabled Advanced Posting.
Revamped search. All the search tools you need -- whether you're looking for people, groups or content -- are now in one simple place.
Drag-and-drop your layout. If you use the "Boxes" layout type (as opposed to "Linear") for your Multiply page, you can now easily drag and drop content type sections -- or edit the way they display without leaving your homepage!
What you missed. These are still the same 'new content' alerts you may already be receiving, but now you can choose whether you want them daily, weekly (you choose the day!) or not at all. You can change this here.
File attachments for blog entries -- When composing a new entry, feel free to add up to five attachments, of up to 20 MB apiece. (Click the paper clip icon in the blog toolbar.)
Easy image adding -- We've made it easier to add images to blog entries. Now, when you click the 'image' toolbar icon, you'll be able to add an image from a Multiply album, upload a new one, or even add one from elsewhere on the Web. (Even easily choose how you want the image aligned!)
Share protected content via e-mail -- If you've previously posted conent that isn't public and wanted to share it with non-members, there's a good chance that all they got was a preview. Now, they'll be able to view the entire posting via a unique link in the notification, without you having to make it public.
Easy invite link -- On your invite page, you'll find a personalized link you can use to invite more than one person to join you as a contact on Multiply. Use this to easily invite a group of people, but never fear; if the link falls into the wrong hands, you can always disable the old link and generate a new one!
New imports -- You can now import your existing blog from Xanga, or your blog, images (or both) from Windows Live Spaces.
Quick link home -- Your username, in the upper-right corner of every page, is now a link to your site. Makes sense, no?
