I won a Table Tennis Tournament this Weekend

Back in 1983 while in college, I met and trained with a guy named Louis who played for the Czechoslovakia national Table Tennis team. I was very lucky to had the opportunity to train with him for about 8-10 months and became I pretty good player. Since school I’ve played table tennis for about a total of 10-15 hours and usually with a beer in one hand at a party.

While on vacation a couple weeks ago in Orlando, FL, I met, played and beat a young boy of about 14 that that plays competitive table tennis for the Gwinnett Table Tennis League. So, this weekend looked them up and saw that they were holding a tournament. I figured what the hell, so I showed up and played in the tournament and ended up winning the under 1400 division. So now I'm amember of the Gwinnett Table Tennis Club and have a USATT rating of 899.  Looks like I found a sport to replace tennis ;o)

Proud Dad Moment: My 10-Year-Old Son is Now a Choi Kwang Do Martial Arts Black Belt

Last Saturday, June 14 2008, Mason tested and passed his Choi Kwang Do Martial Arts Black Belt test at the International Headquarters office located in Kennesaw, Georgia. The testing process took over 3 hours. Mason did a fantastic job. His school did a really good job preparing him and the three other students testing that day.
